Tapas, Tapas and 20-cent Breakfast

Boqueria II in Soho
The Flatiron favorite gets some much-needed extra capacity with this downtown sister location. We recommend settling in at the chef's bar where you can admire the kitchen at work and take in the new brunch menu, including Revuelto Pinoxco and Huevos y Bistec. (That's steak & eggs, for the uni-lingual.)

Txikito
This new spot from the fine folks behind El Quinto Pino boasts the same small-scale pleasures as its predecessors, including small pours of wine, mini-beers (called Zuritos), ten seats at the bar and handheld Basque tapas like Txitxiki, a crispy chorizo-hash sandwich. As for pronouncing it...your guess is as good as ours.

20-Cent Breakfast at Casa Havana
You've probably never stopped by this Chelsea Cuban spot, but we're putting it on your radar just in case: two eggs, bacon and coffee for 20 cents. We recommend tipping at least a quarter.

Casa Naranja Does The BluePrintCleanse - T'was the night before

Brenda and I have been on the phone non- stop vetting each others food or rather non-food choices today. For example "Does a cup of spinach artichoke cheddar soup from Hale and Hearty count as a good choice?" "Should I have a Vanilla Latte, you know, as my last hurrah?"

All I can say is "que vaina!!!"

UPDATE: We just picked up the juices at the Blueprint Cleanse Warehouse in Chelsea. Must say they are extremely organized. 1 bag that includes 6 clearly labeled juices per day. I am reading and memorizing the little cute cheat sheet they included. Is that not a good sign?

Nail it with NARS this November

Source: Sephora's Beauty and The Blog

If you live in NYC and you like to indulge in the occasional (ok, i admit it, biweekly) mani/pedi, then you surely know and love the fabulous Jin Soon Natural Hand and Foot Spa. Jin Soon has long been a fixture on the editorial nail scene in addition to owning three totally zen salons.

Lucky for us, she's teaming up with NARS, during the month of November, to reward customers with their own NARS Nail Polish when they receive a manicure or pedicure in one of ten NARS shades. Sounds like a pretty good excuse to book an appointment if we do say so.

Can't make it to NYC? Shop the NARS shades on sephora.com from the comfort of your couch!

Sati Life's "I Love My Body" Weight Loss NOW Community on Facebooko

It's no secret that we HEART Patricia Moreno and Sati Life. Read of the many reasons below. Join the I Love My Body group on Facebook to receive inspiring daily messages.

There is nothing more difficult than changing your habits. Everyday we
choose things out of a habit and even if that habit is no longer good
for us we still can't seem to break it.
When you are ready to change your lifestyle, lose weight, feel better,
increase you energy, feel sexy in your body, feel proud of yourself you
are going to have to change your habits if the habits you are not living
are not giving you the results you want. When you are changing your
habits you will feel uncomfortable that is normal. To upgrade your
habits
Take a look today at some of the habits you have that no longer serve
your intention of feeling better.
1. what food choices are you making out of habit
2. what exercise habits do you have
3. what beliefs do you have (like its to hard, i can't do it)

What new habits can you start developing today. Instead of focusing on
changing your old habits just replace them with new and improved habits.
It takes time to build new habits, about 30 days but after that it will
be who you are.

Today practice some new habits
1. start a habit of mindful eating
2. don't eat unless you are hungry no matter what
3. stop when you are satisfied NOT stuffed
4. eat foods that you are proud of eating
5. write down what you eat and really pay attention
5. start seeing yourself as someone who does workout regularly
6. encourage yourself instead of discourage yourself
7. make feeling great today a priority, don't give in to old habits

Friends I have received so many grateful emails from you that this is
making a difference and I am so happy. Keep me posted I love the feed
back, it helps me to know it makes a difference.

If it is making a difference for you invite a friend to join.

For more info, dvd's, events, information go to Satilife.com

One day at a time!
Love and gratitude,
Patricia Moreno

As with all such roundups, this list represents only a small sampling of volunteers opportunities in the city, but it should be enough to get you going. It's organized by categories to help you pinpoint your interests, though some organizations cast broader nets than their particular category. Discover - Rosalía Royo

Saw Rosalía Royo perform after the Huecco concert last night at BAM. I assure you the program description did her NO justice.

"
artist on the smoother, sexier side of Iberia’s burgeoning music scene: the keen-eared, classically-trained guitarist/singer Rosalía. Steeped in Spanish folklore, Latin rhythms, and jazz, Rosalía’s guitar lines are lush and sinuous, guiding the listener/vagabond into the most unlikely nooks and crannies of modern Spanish culture. "

LA LEÓN 'unfolds like poetry' - The NY Times

LA LEÓN
A film by Santiago Otheguy
Playing at Cinema Village
22 East 12th Street / (212) 924-3363
For tickets and showtimes visit: www.cinemavillage.com

When Rio Paraná joins Río de la Plata, the river splits into several branches forming a complex labyrinth of wetlands known as the Paraná Delta in Northern Argentina. Amongst the meandering canals, the locals navigate in make-shift crafts, with only a few boat-shuttles connecting the delta with the outside world. This enigmatic and mysterious setting is home to Alvaro (Jorge Román), a man who leads a simple, lonely life harvesting reeds and fishing.

The only link between this isolated and boundless territory and the city is the water-taxi “El León.” Its captain, El Turu (Daniel Valenzuela), is a violent and intolerant man who is threatened by Alvaro’s homosexuality and is set on harassing him, only to reveal the desires that underlie his fear.

Santiago Otheguy’s beautiful award-winning feature, is yet another outstanding example of the ravishing nature of Argentinean film.

SWOOSH: We Really HEART Nike

In my never ending quest for the freshest and hottest, I, Brenda, am your emissary of adventure. Recently, I pushed myself to my athletic limit during a 3-day sojourn to Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. Yes ladies, I have a very tough job.

I have always considered myself athletic -- by that I mean purchasing sneakers and cute workout outfits every 6 weeks so that I can look tip top for my Wii virtual fitness partners! But now after visiting the Mecca of all things competitive, my inner Latina Warrior goddess has been reborn.

Although athletes in Oregon and urban Latina fashionistas are the not the most obvious of bedfellows, the synergies became crystal clear to me as I toured their facilities, met with management, and even got to rub elbows with Olympic greats-Andrea Duran. We share a tireless pursuit of excellence and an unending desire to always step it up a notch. Cynicism aside (hard to do but breath deeply for a minute)…Nike inspired me!

Nike is a corporation that lives and breathes that same vision that we here at Casa Naranja all share. WHAT A TRIP! Stay tuned for the fresh preview of the PHATTEST sneaker/collection I was privy to.

Your Pirate-Proof Mexican Getaway

Source: UrbanDaddy.com

Haciend-Ahhh
The temperature is dropping, the leaves are falling, your thoughts are heading south—and the stock market is doing all of the above. Translation: vacation time. The cure for your not-yet-winter blues? A little place called Campeche: an undiscovered Mexican colonial town with serious south-of-the-border potential.

Right at the base of the Yucatan, Campeche is a former conquistador capital on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico—a Spanish port down in Mayan territory, once frequently attacked by English and Dutch pirates. Besieged and beleaguered, the government put up walls and bulwarks that stand to this day (protecting you from those still-marauding Brits).

For maximum peace of mind, stay at the Hacienda Puerta Campechea 17th-century villa built as a buccaneer-proof refuge, now refashioned as a luxury resort. Try out the Zazil Ha Mayan massage in the in-house spa, take a few laps through the indoor-outdoor pool, or hit the Gulf for some Yucatan sun and fun. Then head back to the oversized woven hammocks in your suite for an old-school siesta, before rallying for a Mayan-Mexican feast on the open-air terrace.

Think of it as the ultimate booty call.
